COVID-19 Media Performance: CBS Hates You

I don't know how many examples I need to show you, but here's another.

The corporate media, CBS in this case, used days old footage from Italy to explain to viewers that New York City was the epicenter of the Novel Coronavirus.  They used 3 day old footage from Italy via Sky News to paint a bleak and scary portrait of NYC as the center of the pandemic.

In other words, they lied to you.

For some reason they get angry when Trump calls them 'fake news'.  As I write this, an NPR station in the Pacific Northwest is censoring Trump's daily press updates because of 'misinformation'.  And yet, many consider CBS legit, and outside sources unreliable.

CBS and the rest of the corporate media are always keeping a Narrative.  They don't care about telling you the truth, or getting you dispassionate news, or helping you stay informed.

I've been onto these people for 15 years.  And no, it wasn't some 'mistake'.  It went through layers of reporters and editors before it got released.  Don't be naive.

If their information causes people to get scared or panic and someone gets hurt or killed.  Oh well.  They'll continue to howl at Tangerine Man and his fake news comments, oblivious to the carnage in their wake.

I'm tired of "Orange Man Bad" from outfits like CBS.  Are you?

Again, perhaps it's time you stopped looking at Corporate Media as anything other than a place to watch pathetic levels of propaganda.

Campus Craziness: Evergreen State Edition

Because I have 2 sections of 12th graders, I feel compelled to let them know what's happening on campus.  The ethos of 'woke' has gotten completely out of control, and this incident at Evergreen State College in 2017 encapsulates much of what is going within the Liberal Arts on campus.  Weinstein was a Biology professor at Evergreen.  He was threatened physically, and eventually pushed to resign after this fiasco was over.

This assignment is geared to not only analyze the rhetoric of both sides, but also help students avoid  massive, permanent student debt.  Why would anyone spend money simply to get exposed to this idiocy?  This took place in 2017, and these types of 'woke' events have shown no signs of subsiding.  This bizarre campus journey has been documented here.

This is the assignment I gave to the Seniors today:
-------------------

For years, Evergreen State college practiced a ‘Day of Absence’, where the ‘people of color’ would voluntary leave campus to bring attention to their importance and role on campus. In 2017, the organizers of the ‘Day of Absence’ changed it and told the white people they had to leave. A biology professor, Brett Weinstein, objected to this change in a private email to faculty.

In March 2017 Professor Weinstein wrote a letter to Evergreen faculty, objecting to a change in the college's decades-old tradition of observing a "Day of Absence" during which students and faculty of a minority race would voluntarily stay home from campus to highlight their contributions to the college.  The announced change would flip the traditional event, asking white participants to attend an off-campus program while the on-campus program was designated for participating people of color.  Weinstein said this established a dangerous precedent:

There is a huge difference between a group or coalition deciding to voluntarily absent themselves from a shared space in order to highlight their vital and underappreciated roles....and a group encouraging another group to go away. The first is a forceful call to consciousness, which is, of course, crippling to the logic of oppression. The second is a show of force, and an act of oppression in and of itself.

— Bret Weinstein, in a message to a campus email list

Please answer the questions after watching the video presentation below:
1) After watching the video, what were your initial impressions of what you observed?

2) Analyze the rhetoric of both the students and Prof. Weinstein. Explain what you heard, and if the rhetoric and word choices helped or hurt their arguments. Please be detailed and explain your thoughts clearly.

The COVID-19 Mask Slips: Richard Branson Edition

I saw this on Vox Day's site, and it's exactly what I've been telling students for the past 15 years:

The multimillionaires who constantly scream at you "how dare you!" are always clowning on you - laughing at your gullibility and herd-like behavior.

Richard Branson, the Virgin Airways guy, is one of these people.

How do we know this?  Apparently, during this Novel Coronavirus time, people's true colors have come out:

Branson is one of these guys who is always howling about "climate change" and how you need to do more, give up more of your money via a carbon tax, be more afraid, and feel more despair.  This from a guy who sends jet airplanes around the world, the most carbon dumping / polluting machines in the industry.

Here's the best part. Nassim Nicholas Taleb is loudly and very publicly calling him out on his rank hypocrisy:

"However, the author reserved his most scathing analysis for Branson, whom he dubbed a “tax refugee” who “walks around virtue-faking with [the] TED [and] Davos crowd.”

He lives in the British Virgin Islands and since the UK has no worldwide taxation, [he] pays no taxes. Yet wants the UK taxpayer's backstop,” Taleb said, in a blistering tweet.

Let him go bust. Planes will fly with new owners!"

Taleb is right.  Here's a guy, multimillionaire Branson, who lives where he won't get taxed, wants to raise taxes on you because the earth is getting hotter, and he isn't paying his employees because COVID-19 has decimated his airline business.

He cares so deeply about the planet .... about the climate .... about people.  Yeah right.  Maybe from this day forward, when one of these people berates you and wants you to pay more for everything because the earth's temperature might rise a degree and a half in the next 100 years, you will ignore him.

COVID-19 and Trump Derangement Syndrome

I wonder sometimes if our Rulers, the beautiful Cloud People, realize that the internet is available to us, the Proles.

Let's look at this right now.
This article is from Mid February, and not only is the U. of Minnesota professor mentioned in the article angry at the 'emotional or political' reaction by Trump, the World Health Organization was explaining to the world that anything speaking badly about the Chinese Flu or limiting travel (Trump) was 'racist'.  Then, an Italian Mayor, on the advice of the WHO, thought that this would be a good idea, because woke:

Lastly, the NY Times, on the front page, the other day, continued the pretense of being a newspaper.  Look at the headline of the lower left:

So do you see how this works?  Limiting travel and pinning the Novel Coronavirus on the Chinese is racist and bad.  Then, 5 weeks later, when the news is different, then the 'unfilled posts' within the Trump administration are 'bad' and we learn the common denominator for the "news" by these repellent organizations is what it has always been:

Orange Man Bad.

G. E. D. Report #47 - What's Going on Under the Coronavirus Hood

We are at the stage of the Novel Coronavirus where the Federal Government has produced and aid package. You're getting $1200 if you qualify. Is there anything else going on? Why are the politicians, particularly the ones here in NYC saying weird, irrational things? What happens if you follow the money and the power? The Corporate Media, always faithfully performing its usual role of Keeper of the Narrative, is on overdrive on this one.

Let's take a look at a few things going on 'under the hood' during this unique time we're in right now.

COVID-19 - Tucker: Why are media pundits trying to discredit hydroxychloroquine?

I have a mature group of 12th graders this year.  I can't tell them this too often as it goes to their heads.  You know how 18 year olds are.

These High School seniors are in a Public Speaking class.  This means we explore the many ways that people try to manipulate, cajole, fool, and snooker the masses of people who are listening.

Because we are in the time of the Novel Coronavirus, the Corporate Media has proverbially put the gas pedal to the floor because Orange Man Bad.  Tucker Carlson has pointed this out clearly in this video.  Unbelievably, anything suggested by Trump is automatically derided and seen as 'bad'.

I gave the 12th graders whose job it is to critique (and eventually create) presentations this assignment.  I'll keep you posted as to what they said.

-----------------

Current Events: Tucker: Why are media pundits trying to discredit hydroxychloroquine?
Tucker Carlson argues that the Corporate Media is willing to lie to you, put your lives at risk, and perhaps kill Americans, just to get back at Pres. Trump. Whatever Pres. Trump says, they're against, however risky to public health it may be.
  1. In your own words, what is his argument?
  2. Analyze his mannerisms, phraseology, and images chosen. Did he choose well?
  3. Does Carlson prove his point?
  4. If we were in class, I would have chosen this video as an example of the deceitful nature of the lying, repellent, abysmally awful media outlets like CNN. Would this video help or hurt my case? Please explain.

Blackpilled on Nostalgia

Devon Stack of Blackpilled is one of my regular go-to sources for current affairs.  His pillstreams are some of the few well thought out streams out there.  He comments on the things going on now, and he's skilled at mapping out the media campaigns that crushed Real America.  In case you think there weren't Hollywood and other Media Corporations who directed themselves to rid a once proud and free nation of the good, the beautiful and the true, a small perusal of Blackpilled will cure you of your mistaken belief.

In case you think I'm coming out of nowhere with this kind of thing, all you need to do is look at this abomination of a judicial decision on Free Speech.

COVID-19: Some Good Questions

As I write this we are in week 2 of the School District Shutdown.  The idea is that if we close all the non-essential businesses, we will stop the flow of the Novel Coronavirus Pathogen and we will "flatten the curve".   'Flatten the curve' has now become a hashtag.  I wonder who started it?

There are some serious issues with this type of decision making.  Local and state governments have forced businesses and schools to close.  Pat Buchanan a good question:

"However, during this shutdown, all “nonessential businesses” are being closed and their workers sent home to shelter in place and to keep “social distance” from friends and neighbors to minimize the risk of spreading this easily transmissible virus.

Unfortunately, what is “nonessential” to some — bars, restaurants, hotels, stores, cruise ships, tourist sites, shops, malls — are places of employment and indispensable sources of income for millions of other Americans.
"

There is also a larger point.  The government has forced these institutions to close.  When did they get that power?  Do you work for the government or does it work for you?  Apparently America has descended so far into Clown World Oblivion that it isn't even discussed.
  • Who spoke out about these dictatorial powers?
  • Where is the ACLU?
  • Why are the 'progressive liberal' states: NY and California, the most fascistic?
  • Where did the Hamiltonian Ethos of a Free Market go?
  • Where is the Chamber of Commerce?
  • Where is the Small Business Administration?
  • Where is La Raza, the racist organization that 'protects' undocumented workers?
  • Why do we accept these decisions from people who aren't punished if they're wrong?
All pathogens and viruses are dangerous.  Why is there such hammer-like force for this one?  There is real danger with the subservient acceptance of the government's response to The Novel Coronavirus.  Buchanan finishes with a chilling comment:

"“We had to destroy the village in order to save it,” was a remark attributed to a U.S. Army officer in the Vietnam War. Must we cripple or destroy the economy to rescue the American nation from the coronavirus crisis of 2020?"

Apparently, the answer is yes.  The trouble is, what was once a free country and a free people, founded on discussion, debate and logos, is now shackled by wild emotion and brute, dangerous unchecked, and unaccountable decision making.

What will you say when those types of decisions affect you harshly, or are done by a government official of the party you don't like?

COVID-19 - Why I Hate the Corporate Media

Take a look at the headline:

Looks pretty bad.  A young man given bad advice, underestimated the Novel Coronavirus, and dies.  Tragic.

Look at how the writer and editor placed key bits of information:

"Garcia, a youth team coach at Malaga club Atletico Portada Alta, was initially diagnosed with pneumonia before testing positive for coronavirus."
That sentence is in paragraph 9. But wait, there's more:

"A day later, blood work showed he also had leukemia, his family said. He finally died Sunday, less than a week after he first sought help."

That last part was in paragraph 10.

This young man's death was tragic.  Do you think the headline is the story?  He not only had pneumonia, but undiagnosed Leukemia!  How many people read the whole article, and saw what we did?  I'd say the Mindless Herd read the headline and took it at face value.  Then they got scared and posted it to Fakebook.

The Corporate Media is a lying joke of an institution.  Don't pay any attention to them, other than to know what the Elite Narrative is and to see what they have planned for us.

COVID-19 Update - The Novel Coronavirus

There are many different Narratives going on simultaneously. There are also many things happening that don't make sense. The Fearmongering in the Corporate Media is at a level I've never seen before. People are noticing that the draconian measures put down on us by our Rulers don't match the news or statistics on the ground. We are also at the place where people are starting to say things like "Coronavirus is a real thing, but ...." This means that the Proles are noticing that this looks like a controlled economic collapse. But by whom? I don't know, and neither do you.

Professor CJ Hopkins has an interesting take here.

Distance Learning - Creating Presentations Using Canva: FREE

One of the positive side effects of Corona coming to town is that we are all getting information about how to do things digitally, allowing long distance learning.  The Power Elite might not like it, but Corona might be one of the things that destroys the School Industrial Complex.

Here is a message I sent to the 12th graders today:

Hello everyone. You've finished week 1 of Online Learning. Your senior year will be one that has a permanent place in history as you'll be the year that Corona visited and vaporized much of the second half of the year.

You'll be creating online presentations next year at the next level (and perhaps for this class as well), and Canva is a great tool. It also is at my favorite price: FREE.

Look over the linked page, and practice making a presentation. Canva has a great reputation and is used often by professionals.

This is about practice. We're talking about practice. Even though there's no written work, university students are expected to look over resources and have them ready when called upon.

Stay in touch.

Long Distance Teaching - PowerPoint to Video

Many people are getting into distance learning during this Coronavirus era.  A silver lining to this time is that the tools of Education Creation are coming to the fore.  I have students in a Presentational Speaking class who might need to record their presentations.  This tutorial will help them.

Creating video isn't that difficult.  This tutorial shows you how to turn a Powerpoint presentation into video.  Powerpoint is relatively easy to use.  One of the keys is to have good sound - at the very least go to a quiet place. I use my earbuds when I record a video on the fly, or I use my $95 microphone.  You can get away with basic video, but bad sound will turn people off.

Bookmark this video as a quality tool for distance learning, or for simply creating video content in the future.  This is also a great tool for homeschooling, unschooling, online course creation, distance learning, and video diary keeping.

COVID-19 Update: School Closed for 2 Weeks

Coronavirus got to our district today. We are closed for 2 weeks beginning Monday. There are many confusing and contradictory things about this era of Coronavirus, but one things that it's important to realize is that being humane is paramount. Even if it is pure hoaxery, the dishwasher at the restaurant who is told to stay home because business is slow doesn't get paid. It's easy to go into the Conspiracy Community and get overtaken by snark and mockery. Snark and Mockery should be reserved for the Corporate Media, who deserve every second of venality you can muster.

Don't ridicule real people. I go into this idea more fully in this presentation.

Coronavirus: COVID - 19

Charles McKay wrote Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds 180 years ago.  I think it's appropriate now as well.  There are so many things that don't make sense, especially if you're like me, and you recognize patterns and previous behavior.

For a disease that is going to ruin us, there are some instances regarding closures that don't make sense.  If they're going to suspend the NBA season, my High School reunion, some schools in New Rochelle, campus classes at Syracuse and Hofstra University, then how can they allow the 1.1 million schoolchildren to move around NYC and go to school?  Aren't they younger and more vulnerable than most?

March Madness, the fun and exciting college basketball tournament, is going to go on - but in empty arenas.

Travel to Europe, as well as trade to the EU has been either slowed down or stopped.  But not the U.K.  I don't understand that.

The Stock Market has collapsed.  Apache Energy, $36 two weeks ago, is now on sale for $9.  I'm buying.  But why would the market go down?  Is there no more demand for products?  Have factories closed?  Is the population decimated?  Does no one want services?  Has the banking industry gotten sick?  Has buying and selling stopped?

The Corporate Media has gotten everything wrong for 30 years, and is not only propping up a repellent globalist agenda, but also brazenly lying.  Now they've gotten it right?  They're all acting in concert, pushing the same tale, and I'm supposed to believe that 'this time is different'?  If corporate media reports it, I believe the opposite.  Why they're doing it - I don't have an answer for that.

I think by the end of May no one will be talking about Coronavirus.  They're pushing this one harder than the others.  Think: Zika, H1N1, SARS, MERS, Swine Flu, Ebola (twice), Avian Bird Flu, and 12/21/12.

The behavior of the Corporate Media, as well as the non-events listed above during the previous viral 'outbreaks', lead me to believe that this isn't much of a pandemic at all.  It's the use of fear to manage behavior of the Crowd.  As Charles McKay wrote in 1841: “Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, one by one.

Quincy and I Discuss the Boogaloo and 2020 Politics

Quincy returns to the program and discusses some of the key goings-on this year. We begin by discussing the idea of the Boogaloo, the one that might have happened, and the ones that still might happen.

After that we discuss, in detail, the 2020 Election season. QJ also fills us in on the state of trucking, and what it's like to be a trucker these days in the age of Orange Man Bad. There is some rough language, but it comes from a good place.

 ------------

I am now on a couple of platforms, teaching and tutoring. I work in a school that is rife with difficulties. Without putting too fine a point on it, I'm in the Bad Neighborhood School. However, my students have done quite well on exams, and in school, over the past 25 years. The competition is quite fierce these days for certain colleges.

My tutoring and instruction have been helpful in getting many clients into schools like Tulane, SUNY Binghamton, Penn St., Harvard, Bates and Hamilton. We will work together on exams, reading, writing, literacy, current affairs, history and economics. I'm a reader - you should be too.

Build up your Intellectual Self Defense, and get the results you want!

Suddenly You're Not Laughing at the Preppers

Corona-Chan has everyone flustered.  Here's the scene at Costco late last week:

Everyone panicked and bought bottled water.  They needed it. Unless it was expensive $18 a box "Essentia" water, then it wasn't necessary.  I find it funny how the panicked herd member MUST have bottled water, unless it's too costly, then it can wait.

The stock market took a hit as well.  Here's my phone laughing at me, Corona style, yesterday:

I can see how the Power Elite manage to get richer.  There are some great companies on that list.  If I had a ton of disposable cash, I would buy big all of these stocks at a serious discount.  Not being afraid is the key.  I didn't buy big in 2009, as I was afraid that large cap companies would go 'bankrupt'.  Seems silly now.

Masks are all the rage as well.  As if a mask will keep you from contracting the flu.  The madness of crowds has taken complete hold of the mask buying public:

Lastly, from the Woodpile Report, a note on the 'Preppers' that your Corporate Media loves to mock:

"Preppers are now being called "hoarders" by our urban betters who had more important things to do until it was too late. The people raiding the big city supermarkets aren't preppers. Preppers are, um, ... what's the word? Oh yes, "prepared". Preparing means methodically building a deep larder in times of plenty. Check your Old Testament for details.

As always, they blame everyone but their precious selves and expect someone else take care of them.

Here's George Ure's take:

'We’re not the ones who are causing shortages of anything. It’s the mental midgets and digital deadbeats who have been face-down in social media slop – buried in political bullshit and being led around by their clickmasters – instead of learning to look at life realistically, assessing options for an uncertain future and then pre-planning, accordingly, that are to blame.'"

G. E. D. Report #46 - Using Fear to Control You - Corona Version

Flint Sky : Those people in the forest, what did you see on them?

Jaguar Paw : I do not understand.

Flint Sky : Fear. Deep rotting fear. They were infected by it. Did you see? Fear is a sickness. It will crawl into the soul of anyone who engages it. It has tainted your peace already. I did not raise you to see you live with fear. Strike it from your heart. Do not bring it into our village.

-------------

Fear is really effective as a tool to make many people think and act the way you want them to. They use it all the time. "Unless you vote me in it will all go badly for you!" "This is the most important election of our lifetimes!" "How dare you not listen to Greta; don't you know that the earth is getting hotter and the seas are rising?!" Once you see the constant fear-mongering you can't unsee it.

The latest version is Corona-Chan. It's strange to think that the Corporate Media, an entity that gets nothing right and maintains a Narrative, is working seamlessly in concert about a vague story from the other side of the world. Bat soup? A seafood market? How many deaths? You don't have the answers, and relying on the Wizards in the Corporate Lying Media for them is stupid.

I go into more detail by speaking about Apocalypto, SARS, Ebola, H1N1, Swine Flu, Zika, numbers, and patterns.

How to Have a Chance Against Trump

I told my brother that the Democratic Party frontrunners have NO CHANCE against Trump unless they go back to junior high school.

Here's why.  Look at these tweets:

Trump does this kind of thing all the time on Twitter, and he spoke like this on the debate stage in 2016, and he will do it again during the 2020 debates.  He's a relentless, juvenile, funny, witty troll - and he's good at it.

Because some of his comments are incendiary, and the Corporate Media is clueless, the Media has no choice but to cover the comments and tweets.  Anyone going up against DJT must get in the mud, roll around with Trump, and act as if they're in middle school all over again.  Come up with funny insults, goof on Trump's flaws, clown on his odd habits.... all  the things you did when you were 13 years old.

Here's the key to winning, to all of the DNC consultants reading this blog:  hire a bunch of smart, precocious, politically aware and preternaturally witty 13 year olds, and unleash them on your candidate.  That 'trial by fire' is the only thing that will get you past Trump.  If you're a bowtie twirling Creature of DC who will 'play by the rules', 'remain civil', and 'take the high road', you'll be doing the same things as ... Low Energy Jeb.

And you'll lose.
