The Backlash Against Woke - Build Your Own Platform

There is a movement going on.  If you're only looking at Corporate Media, you're not only cloddish, you're missing out on the movement completely.

"Build your own platforms".  I remember reading one of Vox Day's posts on this years ago.  Vox is the Godfather of the movement, telling conservatives to stop complaining and crying, and build their own platforms.  Vox Day has been kicked off of everything except Blogger, which is too scared to pull his site.

The latest 'build your own platform' success story is at Outkick, the sports site where Jason Whitlock, Clay Travis, and David Chao have partnered to build a $99 a year subscription site.  It has been a smashing success.   They are getting rich.

Here's the quote from Mr. Whitlock that sparked this post:

"That’s why I departed corporate media to partner on my own platform."

Why did Whitlock leave ESPN, then leave an extremely lucrative gig on Fox Sports?

Because now he simply cannot be fired.  Whitlock and Travis don't buy into the fact free Covids Death Cult.  They are center right politically.  They abhor the Woke nonsense with 72 genders and bending the knee to the leftist grabble.  The thing that sets them off, particularly with Whitlock, is that he's a Christian, and uses it as a baseline for his craft and beliefs.

This drives them crazy.

Here's the elegant simplicity of having Your Own Platform.  You can't be fired.  If you write common sense information about The Novel Coronavirus, they will have you fired.  How many sports people, university professors, and journalists have been de-platformed or fired recently?  Lots.

Now people can't call ESPN, or FOX, or any of the converged Big Tech platforms and have any of the Outkick crew fired for saying that there are 2 genders.  Or that the United States is the least racist country in the world.  Or that Christianity is a good way to live a moral life.

The Daily Beast just ran a hit piece against Whitlock and Outkick.  It will have no effect.  I suspect it will get them more subscribers, making them more rich.

Jason Whitlock brushed off the piece as one would remove lint from a sweater.  At one point, he goes into Beast Mode.

Here is the best part of the article, which I recommend:

Summer School NonFiction: The Drug War Escalates

"Crack in the System"

Please watch 43:00 - 50:02.

In this section the Ripple Effect begins to spread. Ross and his guys begin to franchise the Crack Game to other parts of the country. You also see the police begin to seize huge amounts of money and guns. The Federal Gov't would supposedly take the money from the police, and use it to 'fight the drug war'. This caused anger among the police. The influence of greed among all the players in this dirty game became very strong.

Go to 43:00 and watch til 50:02. You'll see how crazy things got.
  1. Why did Rick and his crew find it "easy" to deal in other parts of the country?
  2. Where did Rick and his crew get the guns?
  3. Would you have taken the money (and risked your job) like the cop in the video did? Could you have held back? Did you see all of those $100 bills? I did.

The Enemy of the People: The Media and Gary Webb

At this stage of the game, you have to wonder why anyone believes the Government - Media Complex.  Stated differently, you should wonder why you believe anything the Corporate Media says - EVER.

Webb, after his Dark Alliance series was written, realized that he'd previously won awards and accolades because he'd never written anything that needed to be hidden.

Then he exposed the Deep State and the CIA's guilt in flooding the Black neighborhood with Crack Cocaine.

  • The mainstream media ignored him
  • The government denied the story.
  • They ruined Webb's story, driving him to "suicide".

-----------------

Here's what we're working on today:

Gary Webb (RIP) got this story and wrote about it for the newspaper, the San Jose Mercury-News in 1995.

At first, the other news media honored the story and it was popular. People were shocked that the government and the media, working with the drug cartels, would do such a terrible thing. The conspiracy to fund their project in Nicaragua at the cost of destroying generations of the black neighborhood was incredible.
  1. What happened next is described by Webb in the video. Please answer the following quesions after watching the entire video:
  2. What had Gary Webb figured out regarding the selling of crack in the black neighborhood?
  3. Why didn't the government react at all to the story? Why were they silent?
  4. What did Webb's employer do to him?
  5. Gary Webb is no longer alive. How did he die? (Look it up if you don't know. You won't believe it)

School Reopening Update: NWO Edition

There is something of a battle going on. If you look closely you'll see it.

The schools have become indoctrination centers. The Education Industrial Complex, most recently through the NEA and Common Core, has worked to create unthinking, emotional, helpless, ahistorical drones. You can see it from the Establishment response to The Novel Coronavirus. The Elite seek to have everyone on UBI, have 'Medicare for All', and be happy with that. It's called Learned Helplessness. This has been the obvious goal for a long time:

Eliminate the American entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Why do you think your local school system mocks 'rugged individualism'?
  • Why do you think they spit constantly on Western, Christian culture?
  • Why do you think they hate Charter Schools, where students must work hard to get rewarded?
  • Why is every single alternative lifestyle not only recognized, but actively pushed?
  • Why do you think the nuclear family is something they want to destroy? BLM has that goal up front on their website. No Establishment voice seems to have an issue with that.

This has been a long march. The Reece Commission in the 1950's discovered what had taken control of the Public School system, and the commission and its findings were memory holed. None of this is new.

Now they have a problem. The Grand Project to dismantle these United States requires school to do its work. If you close the schools, who will do the indoctrinating? But if you open the schools, the Covid-19 death narrative takes a big loss. What do you do? If you want unfree, brainwashed drones, you must keep the schools open. But if you actively do that, then the latticework holding up the CV19 farcical forced response crumbles.

You going to open schools with 'social distancing' rules in place? Yeah right. What they're proposing will last about 48 seconds in the school I work. The New World Order has been very successful, especially the past few months.

Now they have a problem. We'll see how they handle it in the next few weeks.

Goodbye Seattle

One of my friends at Locals posted this letter from the Seattle Police Department.  This will be one of those things the Robot Historians of the future will show children as they sift through the country formerly known as These United States.

There are certain core principles that undergird a successful society.  One of them is private property. When the government shirks its most basic responsibility, one that is easy to understand and at the core of societal stability, it marks a clear beginning of the end.

Notice how the letter clearly explains that the city council has left Seattle PD with no choice but to NOT deal with "demonstrations and unrest".  As the council has banned non-lethal means of breaking  up demonstrations and unrest, SPD won't do it.  They are very clear.

This is a blank check to have a 'protest'.  Stated differently, it's a license to steal.

One question I always ask when I see something like this is "who benefits?"  It's the first thing I thought of when John posted this on Locals.  Is this a real estate ploy?  Get the Normies out of town, then swoop in and get the land cheap?  Maybe in this case there is no nefarious ulterior motive.  Perhaps its just the entire city council on Level 11 Virtue Signaling mode, letting the entire world know that they're 'Woke!"

A couple of final points:
  • What about Covid?  Wouldn't a demonstration violate the Covid Worldwide Pandemic prevention codes?
  • This will continue the massive uptick in gun sales.  I have bought stock in Ruger.
  • The cities will de-populate.
  • I'm looking at land prices in New Hampshire.
  • Goodbye Seattle.  First, the SuperSonics, now this.

Summer School Nonfiction: "I Wanted to be Respected"

Today we'll watch from 19:10 to 33:22 in the documentary "Crack in the System".  In this section you'll see many things, including Gary Webb (RIP), author of Dark Alliance.  We'll hear more from him next week.
In this section you'll see how Freeway Rick got introduced to cocaine and the money associated with it.  There are 5 questions today.  Please spend more time on them than you'd normally.  Think of this as your week's end quiz.
  1. Who was Rick's first connection to powdered cocaine?
  2. A few people talk about Freeway Ricky Ross in this section.  They don't talk about him like a typical drug dealer, they speak of him in a much different way. Explain the way they talk about him and how it's not what you'd expect.
  3. In your opinion, how was Freeway Rick able to rise in the ranks and make all that money that you saw in the video clip?
  4. Who targeted the black neighborhood for the drugs and why?
  5. At the end of this section you hear the statement that the "drug war is worse than the drugs themselves".  What does this mean?

Summer School: Nonfiction - The Rise of Freeway Rick

Today we will watch 11:00 - 19:10 in the documentary "Crack in the System".
The documentary will show you how Rick Ross became wealthy. It also goes into the beginning of how he ran his business, and was able to stay focused and direct. People can't believe the amount of money he made, but it's true - he was seeing, at his peak, multiple millions $$ a day.

After watching 11:00 - 19:10, please answer the following 3 questions:
  1. A story has a setting, where and when it takes place. Describe the setting you see in the video. Give details about how it looks to you - the environment in which this story takes place.
  2. Ross talks in a way that is a little different than the others. What sets his character / persona apart from the other people? From what you've seen, how is it he was able to make so much money in a dangerous game?
  3. What is the tone / mood of the story? Is it sad, happy, hopeful, instructive? ... explain how the story makes you feel.

Summer School: Nonfiction - Dark Alliance Intro

This is one of those stories that was a "conspiracy theory" .. until it became 'conspiracy fact'.

"The government flooded the Black neighborhood with crack cocaine in the 1980's and 90's"

It's a dark chapter in American history, and it wasn't that long ago.

The conspiracy theory, in the 1980's and the 1990's, was that the government was responsible for flooding the Black Neighborhood with crack cocaine. If you spoke openly of this, you were called all sorts of names. One of the more common ones was "Conspiracy Theorist". The problem was, it was all true. A reporter, Gary Webb, figured out the entire thing. The chain of command, why the CIA was sending drugs into certain areas, which government officials were involved - Webb had it all mapped out and he wrote a series of articles on it. He also wrote a book on it called Dark Alliance.

Today's assignment:

Please watch the following preview for our documentary called "Crack in the System". At one point, Freeway Rick Ross was seeing $1-3 Million dollars ... a day.

After watching the documentary preview,
1) Write one question you have.

2) Write what you want to know more about.

The Woodpile Report.

Ol' Remus has gone home.

After writing The Woodpile Report for many years, Remus had a quick 3 week battle with cancer, and then he went to the next level.

Tuesday mornings will never be the same.  I used to not only get informed, but also amused by his witty and smart writing style.

Someday I hope to have acquired a style as effective as his.

Remus linked to the news, and commented on it in a way that was direct.  To say that it was politically incorrect does it a disservice.  Remus was above that nonsense.  He was so bare bones truthful that even the hardest edged of us tipped our hat to Ol' Remus.

To be linked on The Woodpile Report was a badge of honor.  There was no blog.  There were no ads. There was no video.  There were no grammatical or mechanical errors.  There was no teenage clutter.

There was a frank analysis of the news.  There was honesty.  There were timeless bits of advice.  There were wonderful old ads that made you wish for an America long gone.

In this comparatively new internet world, The Woodpile Report was anachronistic.

"Stay away from crowds" was one bit of advice he gave us, to help us navigate the crumbling USA.

I hear you old man.  Even now that you're gone.

A Nail in the School Industrial Complex Coffin

"I understand that $50,000 a year is a lot for college, but they need the 'college experience' and the time on campus'".

This is one of the things parents, teachers, and guidance counselors all say to justify the absurd tuition rates.

What if you're going to school on Zoom?  Never leaving your house, listening to lectures on 'Dismantling Whiteness" or "Race and Public Space"?  How much will you pay for that?  What is it worth to you?

Harvard recently announced that their $50K tuition will remain the same, even though Corona! has shut down the campus and classes will be done digitally.

Harvard might be able to afford that decision.  There are enough people who are willing to spend $50K a year to simply buy the credential.  For now anyway.

Southwestern Podunk State can't afford to do that.  Most universities can't.

When the Robot AI Historians write the history of this time, I think they'll recognize this as a turning point in the timeline.

Pay for classes on Zoom?  They can get away with it for a while, but not forever.

Having Your Cake and Eating it Too - Trunk / Minneapolis Edition

Here's an interesting turn of events:

This is the new formula.  The old formula was that the Federal Government would unthinkingly send millions of dollars to local organizations, politically connected of course, and the money would flow.

You should be happy that Donald Trunk (NSFW) isn't sending money to Minneapolis.  It fosters something you teach your children: accountability.

The local government told law enforcement to stand down. The rioters and looters destroyed lives, stores, careers, hopes and dreams.  Now they want someone they've called 'literally Hitler', 'racist', Drumpf, and a whole host of terrible things .... to come in and foot the bill for their lack of leadership.

If someone called you 'racist' for three and a half years, what would you give them?  Be honest and brave in your answer.

And Hotep Jesus called it as well.  He knows how the formula works:  Have a violent, destructive incident, and then get your cronies involved in the recovery and get paid.  Hotep Jesus' point was that the Black Community is almost never involved in securing the funds.

Now the people connected to power, who let the city burn, won't be able to enrich their friends either. Now the local governments are on the hook for their decisions.  This is how it's supposed to be.  You learned it in school.  It's called Federalism.

"Orange Man Bad" isn't a political strategy.  Letting regular people's lives get destroyed because the local mayor and state governor are too afraid of bad PR is also not political strategy.  It certainly isn't leadership.

Good for Trunk.  It's about time someone held local politicians feet to the fire.  You teach your 6th grader accountability.  Why isn't it applicable grown people?  Especially those who chose to run for leadership positions?

How They Endlessly Snooker The Herd

I got mildly rebuked by an old NYC 'progressive' woman yesterday.

I walk around my area of the Bronx without a mask.  It's quite easy, I just walk in the spirit of protesting for Social Justice.  As we know, that's more important than worrying about The Novel Coronavirus.  It's also necessary.  That's what we're told.

As I was walking, Old Progressive was talking to a guy in his truck, and she tossed a "and some people just don't give a sh!t", referring to my non mask wearing self.

I bring this up because while this Triassic Era NYC liberal woman, with all the correct opinions was actively angry at me, this happened:

Greenwald, one of the few honest brokers left in the media, not only wrote a fantastic article about the pro-war bipartisan faction of FedGov, but points out how they do it:

"Perhaps most remarkable is the amount of the military budget itself. It is three times more than the planet’s second-highest military spender, China; it is ten times more than the third-highest spender, Saudi Arabia; it is 15 times more than the military budget of the country most frequently invoked by Committee members as a threat to justify militarism: Russia; and it is more than the next 15 countries combined spend on their military. They authorized this kind of a budget in the midst of a global pandemic as tens of millions of newly unemployed Americans struggle even to pay their rent.

How does this happen? How do Democrats succeed in presenting an image of themselves based on devotion to progressive causes and the welfare of the ordinary citizen while working with Liz Cheney to ensure that vast resources are funneled to the weapons manufacturers, defense sector and lobbyists who fund their campaigns? Why would a country with no military threats from any sovereign nation to its borders spend almost a trillion dollars a year for buying weapons while its citizens linger without health care, access to quality schools, or jobs? Who are the people in Congress doing this, and why?"

Greenwald answers the question by stating that these issues are boring.  He's right.

The Corporate Press is much more willing to have the WEAR A MASK debate, as the NYC Progressive Dinosaur was willing to have with me.  She's the poster child for how the game is played.  Old Lady was ginned up about my mask habits outside (!), and has no idea that her party, the one she's unthinkingly voted for since the FDR administration, has sold her and her progeny down the river.

The Top of the Pyramid is doing the best divide and conquer act in history.  Masks, statues, cancel culture, COVID-19 ... these are the things people are screaming about in person and on antisocial media.

Meanwhile, the wealth gap widens, and Big Corp and those connected to DC enrich themselves.

Greenwald's gift for distilling current affairs is here:

"These are questions that are rarely examined in media venues. News sites, op-ed pages and especially 24-hour cable news are obsessed with trivialities: Trump’s latest tweet or offhand remark in a rally; symbolic culture war distractions in which Congress plays little role; the offensive remarks of people who wield little power. As a result, what the U.S. government really does — in the bowels of the Congress and in the underbelly of sub-committee proceedings — receives little substantive attention."

Admit it, he's right.  You know more about Trump's twitter history than you do about what's going on in your own Federal Government.

The answer? Avoid Corporate Media.

Here's What Also Happened While Your Friends Were Virtue Signaling Online

Remember the peaceful protests a few weeks ago?  I do.

I also remember that our Overlords told us that we weren't allowed to call them 'riots' or the people involved 'looters'.

Of course the most grotesque thing, as it always is with these things, was the shameless virtue signaling and status jockeying by your friends on social media.  People howling on FB and IG about how 'the rioters were mostly white', or that they were 'mostly black, or insisting that they were 'peaceful'....

If you deviated from any of the Approved Messages given to you by the Corporate Media Titans, you were ostracized and shamed.

Turns out there were real people involved.  One of the few real investigative reporters left, Michael Tracey, has documented the damage to real people, people who've lost livelihoods.

If you brought these people up in the conversation, you were accused of being a heretic and thrown in the river to see if you could float.

---------

Contact your nearest vacated, soulless, progressive virtue signaling moronic social media friend, the one who did all the politically correct things on social media, and put this in her face.  It won't do any good, as that person is an empty husk, but it will be cathartic for you.

Full link to many more pictures at the bottom.  Michael Tracey is legit, and I recommend following him.

Liam O'Flaherty's "The Sniper" - Ideas and Concepts Within the Story

We are currently reading Liam O'Flaherty's "The Sniper". Within all the stories we read there are great concepts to discuss. These concepts, often dealing with the Human Condition, are often more fun and interesting to talk about than the story itself. Here is an example from "The Sniper".
The Sniper - Ideas and Concepts from Douglas Marolla on Vimeo.
--------------------------
Aim: How does foreshadowing guide you through the story, "The Sniper"?

Let's analyze each quote. For each quote, give a short explanation (1-3 sentences):

1) "His face was the face of a student, thin and ascetic, but his eyes had the cold gleam of the fanatic. They were deep and thoughtful, the eyes of a man who is used to looking at death." Explain what this tells you about the Sniper's personality. (10 points)

2) "He had eaten nothing since morning. He had been too excited to eat. He finished the sandwich, and, taking a flask of whiskey from his pocket, he took a short drought. Then he returned the flask to his pocket. He paused for a moment, considering whether he should risk a smoke. It was dangerous." Explain why it is 'dangerous' for him to light a match and smoke a cigarette. (10 points)

3) "Morning must not find him wounded on the roof. The enemy on the opposite roof coverd his escape. He must kill that enemy and he could not use his rifle. He had only a revolver to do it. Then he thought of a plan." What was the Sniper's plan to escape? (10 points)

Here is the story read aloud, if you need it for review:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qniva4k947o&t=8s
-----------------
Here is a look, if you're interested, into what the early stages of Sniper Training look like in the US Marine Corps. Many of you know that my older brother was a Marine Sniper in FAST Company. This is similar to the training he was put through.

Summer School 2020: Welcome!

I'll be posting things from summer school here, as well as some of the usual content for the next few weeks.

Summer school 2020 is all digital this year.  Presenting interesting content and getting students to buy in is somewhat similar to having a website that people go to regularly.  It helps to have material that is both enjoyable and interesting.

Teachers sometimes present stories, material or information that is prepackaged and dull.  They get away with it because they can.  An instructor's false authority allows him to know that the student must view and respond to it because  the specter of "getting credit" and a "grade" is there as a threat.

We've all had teachers like that.  I focus on not being that guy.

Here is my short introductory video.  I'm using my Vimeo channel for this project.  I like the Vimeo interface.  I also need to practice using that platform as youtube is now erasing people and censoring, and I don't know when a subversive element like yours truly will get vaporized.

Summer School 2020 Welcome from Douglas Marolla on Vimeo.

"Welcome to our Summer School 2020 English class. Listen for a few minutes as to how I do things, and what my philosophy is.

Let's use the digital classroom to the fullest: submit all kinds of responses so that we can have a Great Conversation and talk about interesting things
."

How They Win and How You Lose

The formula is reasonably simple.  1) Paint someone out to be a monster ("literally Hitler", "Putin's puppet", "racist"), then 2) keep the lazy American's media and social media feed filled with that message.

That's all it takes.

Then, the real issues get ignored and the real money continues to flow into their hands, as well as monstrous amounts of influence.

This is what I'm talking about:

It's quite amazing.  House Democrats are working hard, and succeeding, at keeping the War Machine going full speed.  Trump, the person you see as the embodiment of all evil ("Racist!!") is trying to reduce the US Military footprint in Afghanistan.  He's making an anti-war move.

The man you'll vote for, Biden, is already positioned to keep troops in the area forever.  The usual excuse eternal war and everything else, Putin and Russia! has already been trotted out for the masses.  The propaganda about "bounties" was released - the NY Times did its job.

This is how they win.  This is the formula.  While you're arguing about statues and race online, the nearly trillion dollar war machine just racked up a major win.  And Trump is trying to stop it.

Think about that for a minute.

Maybe you're ready to adjust where you get your information.

The first step for you to stop getting constantly bamboozled and snookered is to not only ignore your Facebook friends, but find better sources of news.  I like politics, and I enjoy reading and being informed.  What I don't do is listen to uninformed progressive nonsense on Facebook.

Jack Baruth put it best: "The goal of America’s ruling class is simple, and consistent with the goals its predecessors throughout history have always held: namely, to preserve its position at all costs. It does this by co-opting the anger pointed in its direction by the disenfranchised and redirecting that anger to the class below."

You get told who is bad, the race card gets played, and your emotions get manipulated.  Meanwhile, the banks got the biggest handout in human history, you got $1200, and now the Military Industrial Complex will block the Commander in Chief from ending the flow of money and power.

While this is going on you're fighting 'racism', advocating for tearing down statues, and cheering on the people in #CHOP.

It's amazing to watch.

So what do you do?

Reading Glenn Greenwald and his articles is a good first step.  What he's done in the above linked article is show you that you're being guided and manipulated to believing the opposite of what's happening.

"Orange Man Bad" is not a political philosophy.  It makes you look and sound ridiculous.

There is a method to their madness, as seen above.  I don't think there's a method to yours.

When Things are Upside Down

At the same time that there are protests, riots and looting, there is also a pride parade. For these events, it looks to me like the twin ideas of 'social distancing' and 'wearing a mask' are optional. They are not optional at my local playground here in the Bronx. Well meaning moms are getting pushed around if they or their children don't have masks on. In the playground. Outside.

If that makes sense to you you'll love Upside Down World.

When you're in a state like NY, and a country like The Fake America, this is how it's done. People go for it because they're taught to obey authority in school, and not much else. The only consistent thing in all of this is the fact that people will do as they're told. I could have looted and burned stuff on Fordham Road, and maybe made a little $$ on the side. They weren't worried about that, nor were they heavy on the arrests. Instead I'm following the rules and paying the $75 red light camera ticket I got the other week.

When following the rules and obeying the laws makes you a chump, it signals the inevitable end. It's only a question of timing.

The thumbnail above is from the June 28th NY Times.  Odd how the 'mask' thing is suddenly not important at all.  Think about that when you have your child's playtime, or schooling disturbed by the new rules, or "The New Normal".  The reason why "The New Normal" isn't enforced here is because they approve of the message.  No one will comply with your thoughts and opinions when it comes to your life and needs.  This is intentional. You're supposed to accept nonsense, bend the knee, and show sufficient enthusiasm for whatever they put in front of you, no matter how absurd.

I love the joy and free spirits shown in the NY Times picture.  It's what I love about NYC.

It would be nice if we all could just be left alone to celebrate like the people in the picture.  Too bad the Promethean Power Elite had to do what they always do: push it too far and OD on their own power.
